Compare prices across countries with an AI agent
Price differences between countries are where buyers save money and sellers find opportunities. Checking them means visiting the same page from several countries and comparing currency, price, availability and shipping. That's tedious by hand and a natural job for an AI assistant, once it can actually see the page from each country.
Setup in 2 minutes
- Create a small, dedicated wallet (MetaMask, Rabby or Coinbase Wallet) and send it a few dollars of USDC on Base.
- Add Geo402 to your assistant (Claude Desktop: Settings, Developer, Edit Config; Cursor:
~/.cursor/mcp.json):
{
"mcpServers": {
"geo402": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "geo402-mcp"],
"env": {
"GEO402_PRIVATE_KEY": "0xYOUR_DEDICATED_WALLET_KEY",
"GEO402_BUDGET": "2",
"GEO402_MAX_PER_CALL": "0.05"
}
}
}
}
- Restart the assistant and ask "check my Geo402 wallet".
GEO402_BUDGET caps spending per session; anything above it is refused before paying.
Prompts that work well
- "Compare https://store.example.com/plans from the US, UK and India. Make a table of plan names, prices and currencies, and convert to USD."
- "Is this product available when viewed from Canada and Australia? https://shop.example.com/item/42"
- "Fetch the Japanese and German versions of this page and tell me what content differs."
The assistant calls compare_page_across_countries, which fetches all versions in parallel and returns them side by side.
What it costs
| Task | Pages | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| One page, one country | 1 | $0.005 |
| Compare 3 countries | 3 | 3 x $0.005 |
| Weekly check of 10 pages in 5 countries | 50 | 50 x $0.005 |
Pages that don't load (blocked, CAPTCHA, errors) are never charged.
Amazon prices across marketplaces
For Amazon, scraping product pages is the wrong tool: Amazon blocks most automated visitors. ASIN402 returns structured prices, price history and deal verdicts for the same product across 11 Amazon marketplaces (domain=us, uk, de, fr, jp, ...), with its own MCP server (asin402-mcp). The same wallet works for both.
